There’s always so much going on in Olde Town Arvada that I don’t make it out to every event. But I’ve already got Colorado Tartan Day on my calendar, so hopefully I’ll be able to come back with some fine pictures later!
For now, I just want to let everyone know about:
Colorado Tartan Day Festival
Saturday, April 9th, 2011
McIlvoy Park, Olde Town Arvada
9 am – 4 pm
Admission is free, and parking is free!
Enjoy learning about Scottish/Irish/Celtic history from various clans, performances by bagpipe bands, Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers, and historical re-enactors.
In addition, there’s two special events:
Whiskey Tasting at Bread Winners at 1:30 ($20 per person),
and Dinner/Ceilidh at the Elks Club (doors open at 5:00, $20 for adults $10 for kids 12 and under.
Dinner is at 6:00, at 7:00 is a Kitchen Piping Contest, followed by Angus Mohr (Highland rock & roll!) at 8:00

**** Did you know there’s an official Coloradan tartan? ***
I don’t know how to get it yet, I found these pictures on www.tartanhedgie.com, but none of their links are live.

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those *communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly *suburbs northwest of Denver.
