Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying fireworks with my family and a few friends in Denver, with the beautiful City and County Building in the picture. The Colorado Symphony Orchestra entertained a crowd of over 5,000 before the light show started, vendors sold food and goodies. We got sprinkled by rain drops a couple of times, but they conveniently stopped before the explosions of light began.
One of my favorite moments was when the orchestra played the National Anthem and everyone stood up. I’ve been in crowds over the last few years that neglected to do that, and it felt good to experience that with the good folks of Denver.
It was my grandson’s first time, and while he didn’t seem to enjoy the experience very much, at least he wasn’t frightened!

If you missed last night’s celebration, there’s still many opportunities tonight in the cities between Denver and Boulder, like my town of Arvada. I invite you to come to Arvada’s Independence Day celebration.
Have a wonderful and safe Independence Day, and remember to pray for our troops, and the nations where they’re serving.
Which reminds me of something – yesterday a stranger noticed my husband’s license plate, which says ‘Honorably Discharged Veteran’, and thanked him for service. It made him feel really good. It’s something we all could do more often!

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those *communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly *suburbs northwest of Denver.
