If you’re looking for something sweet to do for Valentine’s Day, come to Arvada, Colorado (a cool little town between Denver and Boulder) for A Chocolate Affair.
I just want to do a quick update on my previous Chocolate Affair post. This is an event a lot of people look forward to, and it’s fun to get out and see your neighbors enjoying themselves in Olde Town. 2011′s event is Saturday, February 5 from 11 am to 3 pm.
Here’s a summary of the events:
Chocolate Sampling at the D Note Restaurant on Grandview and at DiCicco’s Banquet Room on Olde Wadsworth between 11 am and 2 pm. Chocolate-based food and drink is presented by several chocolatiers, bakers, and restaurants. Tickets available at the door, six tickets for $5. Proceeds benefit the Arvada Ralston House, a child advocacy and resource center for kids who have been abused. Last year the Taste of Chocolate raised over $2,300 for Ralston House.
Chocolate Treasure Hunt – compete for prizes for free between 11 am and 1:30 pm. Starts in Olde Town Square.
Chocolate Cookie Contest – Drop off 5 sample cookies on a disposable plate between 11 am and 1 pm at DiCicco’s Banquet Room (do some sampling while you’re there!). No cost to enter.
You can also enjoy Carriage Rides through Olde Town, balloon artistry, face painting, more.

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those *communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly *suburbs northwest of Denver.
