If you live between Denver and Boulder and you’ve never been to the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park, a road trip awaits that will leave you breathless!
Click the link above for details about weather, directions, more photos. The entrance fee is $15 for a car load.
Some of the photos below of the drive getting to Black Canyon. We had driven south to see a friend in Alamosa, so approached from a different direction than we normally would have.
While you’re in the area, be sure to stop in Ouray. This Victorian town is situated in a rugged area that only miners would have settled. Tour a ghost town or an abandoned mine, or take a Jeep tour. And just outside of Ouray is Box Canyon Falls and Park.
Makes for a nice weekend trip!

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those *communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly *suburbs northwest of Denver.
