Olde Town Arvada. What a great place to just hang out and enjoy Colorado summers.
McIlvoy Park is host to Arvada’s Free Summer Concert Series, both the family-friendly Thursday evening lineup and the Children’s Friday morning series.
Thursday nights, 7:00 to 8:30, folks bring a picnic supper and chairs or blankets (no alcoholic beverages, please).
- 101st Army Band – June 30
- The Spin (Variety) – July 7
- Network (Blues and Soul) – July 14
- The ReJuveniles (60s Rock) – July 21
Friday mornings, from 9:30 to 10:15. There is no covered shelter for shade, so plan accordingly.
- Kathrine Dines (Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Fun Music) – June 17
- Scott McCray (Magic) – July 22
In case of inclement weather, performances move to the Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Boulevard.
These free events are brought to Arvada thanks to grant funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District and local sponsors including Apex PRD Foundation, Prospect Recreation and Park District, Arvada Festivals Commission, Arvada Parks Department, Gardens at St. Elizabeth, Friends of the Concerts, U.S. Bank, Craft Carousel Gift Shop, and Sooper Credit Union.

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly suburbs northwest of Denver.
