Adam’s Mystery Playhouse – things to do between Denver and Boulder

Adam's Mystery Playhouse

Finally – I got to go to a Mystery Dinner! I’ve wanted to for a long time, couldn’t get the hubby on board. Then, he won an award at work and all the winners were treated to a Mystery Dinner at Adam’s Mystery Playhouse. Click on the link for reviews, details, menu, etc.

It was a gorgeous Colorado spring day, so the place didn’t look too ominous from the outside, despite the owner’s best efforts. But inside there was lots of creepy and bizarre things to look at.

The characters who were part of the mystery itself were staff, so the diners didn’t have to dress up and learn parts, etc. I think that makes this more enjoyable for those of use who like less public attention than some mystery dinners require.

One of the characters.

However, they offer the type of event where the guests are all part of the show, too.

The staff characters began mingling with the diners before dinner was served, so some of them were thought to be another guest for awhile. But each time, it became obvious that there was sometthing ‘off’ about them. And some had outregeous costumes that didn’t fit in, so they were obviously characters.

The fun antics started right away, and never stopped!

The staff was very good at getting the audience participating. I think that there was some purpose in the pre-dinner mingling, which was to figure out which folks really wouldn’t be too shy to get called out in front of everyone else.

The spontaneous conga line

All together this was a fun and unique group experience. I thought it might be a good event for a past-client party. Maybe ……

My hubby was such a good sport, when he got singled out for some attention. See his photo below – he’s the one wearing the black feather boa and the friendly lady!
