We had heard about the famous Johnson’s Corner cinnamon rolls for years, and finally made the trip a couple of weeks ago. Let me tell you it’s not just about cinnamon rolls, they have an award-winning breakfast.
Please click the link above to read all about their story, I’ll just tell you it opened in 1952 as a truck stop in the middle of farmland, and since then has been featured in a Bill Murray movie and has been mentioned by the US House of Representatives.
Johnson’s Corner is so famous, it’s a shame for any Coloradan not to have visited there at least once. I hope you enjoy my pictures, I hope even more that you click the link and read about this spot of true Americana, and I really hope that you stop in at Johnson’s Corner, right off of I-25, real soon!
(BTW – on this trip we were headed for Red Feather Lakes. But it rained quite hard while we were there, so I didn’t get my camera out. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the incredible rainbows featured in Mary Douglas’s post.)
The handsome little guy is my grandson, Jayden. That look on his face is his reaction to his first taste of Famous Cinnamon Roll! (Or shall I say, Famous Cinnamon Drool?)

I write posts on real estate issues and local events in the Denver metro area, especially those *communities between Denver and Boulder, as a public service. My hope is to give people an idea of the ‘flavor’ of our community, in case they’re new or moving to the Denver area.
I am a residential real estate agent, happily helping folks buy a house or sell a house in the beautiful and friendly *suburbs northwest of Denver.
